COSMIC DATA-BANK Project 14: EMINENT PAINTERS The Data The timescale of the birth dates of these 1,200 artists ranges from Sandro Botticelli born March 1, 1445 to Celia Melton born April 18, 1969. There are a few great names missing from this project because the details of their births are unknown. The GROVE DICTIONARY OF ART was used as the final reference of the birth information for these artists. For those artists whose time of birth is unknown I used noon, local time in order to minimize any potential error in planetary positions. Within a group of 1,200 people one might expect to find an average of 3.3 of them born each day of the year (1200/365=3.3) but the following table lists the twelve days in which none of the 1,200 artists was born.
As I have found in all the other projects completed to date, there are often interesting incidences of birth. In the table below are listed artists who are born on the same day of various years.
Mercury in the Sectors This planet orbits the Sun every 88 days and is the planet closest to it. Because its orbit is elliptical Mercury spends between 4 and 11 days in each sector and this has been considered in the following table. Mercury is closest to the Sun when it is in sector 3 and furthest from the Sun when in sector 9.
The highest births per day count is for sector 3 and the lowest births per day count is found in sector 5. With perfect randomness one would find 100 artists born in each sector (1,200 / 12 = 100) but that is not what is found in this project. For those with artistic skills it would be to your benefit to have Mercury in sectors 3, 4 or 12 but not absolutely necessary. There are still other factors to consider. Venus in the Sectors This planet circles the Sun every 244 days in an orbit that is almost perfectly circular located between Earth and Mercury. Mercury is hard to spot with the naked eye, but Venus is dazzling as the "morning star" or the "evening star" and should not be missed. The following table shows the distribution of Venus through the 12 sectors.
With perfect randomness one should find 100 artists born in each sector. Counts higher than 100 exceed expectation and counts lower than 100 do not meet expectation. For the budding artist it would be to your advantage to be born with Venus in sector 4, 9, 3, 8, 10 or 11. Earth in the Sectors Our beautiful planet spends 29.6 days in each sector as it orbits around the Sun in a path that lies between Venus and Mars. The distribution of Earth in the sectors is shown below for these 1,200 artists.
For the budding artist it would be to your advantage to have the Earth in sectors 2, 5, 6, 7 or 8. More than twice as many great artists are born with the Earth in sector 6 than in sector 12. The Earth is in sector 6 between February 20 and March 20 each year. These two dates are approximate because some years have 366 days instead of the usual 365. A significant number of artists were born during the winter season in the northern hemisphere, especially during the last 10° of sector 5 through the first 20° of sector 6, including August Renoir, Piet Mondrian, Sandro Botticelli, Mary Pratt and Michelangelo to name a few. Mars in the Sectors This distinctly reddish looking planet hurtles around the Sun every 687 days in an orbit between Earth and Jupiter. It is easily seen with the naked eye. Because of its elliptical orbit Mars spends less time in some sectors than in others. The range is 47 days in sector 12 to 68 days in sectors 5 and 6. The births per day per sector range from a low of 1.4 in sector 8 to a high of 1.9 in sectors 1 and 3 with the majority of sectors showing 1.7 - 1.8 births per day for these artists. The distribution of Mars in the sectors is shown in the table.
For the budding artist it appears that Mars is reflected almost equally in every sector except sector 8. Mars appears to be less associated with artistic creativity in the subconscious than Mercury, Venus, or Earth and is more statistically differentiated in the heliograms of those more aggressive types such as found in the athletic and industry groups. Heliogram Types There are 8 types of heliograms that are seen more frequently than others in all the projects completed to date. The 8 types may be reviewed at the following link: HELIOTYPES .The heliogram types are shown as percentages of the total group in the following table. In the counts for the heliograms I originally included the SPLAY and BOWL types together and that is why the line is blank for the Artists. The General Population column shows the frequencies for the 8 types in the Adams & Eves control group. Within the SOLO type heliograms, the solo planet was most frequently Saturn, followed by the Earth and then Uranus, with Neptune the planet least often found as a solo planet for this group.
Planetary Patterns Within the eight heliogram types one will find 5 planetary patterns more often than any others. The frequency for these patterns is shown in the table below in two formats; as the only planetary pattern and in combination (+) with other patterns. The final column shows the frequency in the Adams & Eves control group.
There are some significant differences in the frequencies between the Artists and the control group. The frequencies are further enhanced by the combining of the "only" counts with the "+" counts. For example, the t-square pattern is found alone without any other planetary pattern in 10.9% of the heliograms and in combination with other planetary patterns in 52.5% of the heliograms; added together the frequency for t-squares in the heliograms of eminent artists is 63.4% while in the control group it is less than half that frequency. Almost 10% of the general population studied in the Adams & Eves project have none of the 5 major planetary patterns on their heliograms while amongst eminent artists it is less than 2%. MICHELANGELO BUONARROTI He was a sculptor, painter, poet, and architect with an enduring legacy that will last as long as there is a human civilization. His only close rival as of July 2008 is Leonardo da Vinci. Michelangelo was born March 6, 1476 near Arezzo, Italy, four hours before sunrise according to his biography. He has a remarkable BOWL type heliogram with every planet in the solar system involved in one or more of the three planetary patterns contained therein. The table below gives the details of the planetary addresses at the time of his birth which I have set for 02:30h local time.
His three planetary patterns are:
According to everything written about him, Michelangelo was at times an odorous, unwashed wonder, always full of determination and perseverance, with an eye for beauty, perfection and a fat bank account. There is no doubt about the genius of this man; we will never see another his equal. Michelangelo is popularly remembered for the paintings of the Sistine Chapel, the David sculpture, the Pieta sculpture, and the dome of St. Peter's Basilica but he accomplished much, much more.
