COSMIC DATA-BANK

PROJECT 8: PHYSICIANS & SURGEONS

1.  PROJECT DATA

There are 971 physicians in this study. The birth information for each physician includes a verified birth time, day, month, year and city of birth. This is the first project completed at the Cosmic Data-Bank that includes the birth time for each entry. There are very few women in the study and I am simply guessing when I state that this is probably due to the fact that the data comes from the late 1800's and early 1900's when women were not well represented in universities, especially in the Faculty of Medicine. The earliest birth date included in the project was December 16, 1867 and the latest was October 21, 1939, a total span of 72 years.

The data, originally collected by Dr. Michel Gauquelin and his wife Francoise Gauquelin, was obtained by me from the C.U.R.A. website which you may visit if you wish to look at the raw data yourself. According to the website, the date and time of birth for each physician was obtained from the registry office of the place of birth listed in the Who's Who in France (1955-1956 and 1975-1976 editions).

2.  THE QUESTION

Do the people who become physicians share any common planetary patterns or are their planetary positions completely random?

The former suggests that the planetary pattern at birth has influence on the direction that the career will follow. The latter suggests that there are no planetary influences and that career direction is motivated by something else such as family tradition,  parents, a hero, an exciting medical story or a memorable film for example. The results of the project indicate that these physicians do share significant cosmic similarities which could impact the subconscious and the inner drive of the individual physicians.

3.  THE VIEWS

Two birthcharts were prepared for each physician, one from a heliocentric viewpoint and one from a geocentric viewpoint. The heliocentric birthchart provided the position of each planet as seen from the Sun on the birth day. The geocentric birthchart provided the position of the Moon and the Ascendant - Descendant axis (East - West) for the geographical longitude and latitude of birth on Earth.

In a perfectly random system, the number of physicians born into each of the 12 sectors of the sky should be 8.33% of the total group.

4.  THE COUNTS FOR PLANET EARTH

Because the view is heliocentric, one can include a count for the position of planet Earth. The physician count in the Sectors and sub sectors is shown in the following table. Each sub sector comprises 10° of a 30° Sector, giving 3 sub sectors per Sector.

SECTOR & SUB SECT. COUNT TOTAL SECT. COUNT AS % SECTOR & SUB SECT. COUNT TOTAL SECT. COUNT AS %
1 - 1 29   7 - 1 29
1 - 2 25   7 - 2 30
1 - 3 27 8.3 7 - 3 27 8.9%
2 - 1 13   8 - 1 22
2 - 2 23   8 - 2 29
2 - 3 23 6.1   low 8 - 3 37 9.1
3 - 1 25   9 - 1 28
3 - 2 23   9 - 2 25
3 - 3 21 7.1 9 - 3 27 8.2
4 - 1 15   10 - 1 31
4- -2 23   10 - 2 33
4 - 3 28 6.8 10 - 3 34 11.1  high
5 - 1 29   11 - 1 36
5 - 2 30   11 - 2 29
5 - 3 24 8.5 11- 3 33 10.1
6 - 1 34   12 - 1 25
6 - 2 16   12 - 2 29
6 - 3 27 7.9 12 - 3 22 7.8

Heliocentric view: The highest count is found in the following combination, S10,ss2 + S10,ss3 + S11,ss1 with a count of 113 physicians or 11.6% of the total. The fewest physicians are found with the Earth in S2 with 6.1% of the total. Since the random average would be 8.3% one can see that the counts are fairly evenly distributed through the sectors with small peaks in sectors 10 and 11 and a lowest count in sector 2.

5.  THE COUNTS FOR PLANET MERCURY

The planet Mercury has an elliptical orbit around the Sun, taking 88 days to complete the trip. Mercury passes through all the Sectors four times a year. Mercury does not spend an equal amount of time in each sector because of its elliptical orbit and the counts have been corrected for this factor.

Once again, the percentage per sector should be 8.3% in a perfectly random system. The counts for the Sectors are shown below.

SECTOR COUNT % OF TOT. SECTOR COUNT % OF TOT.
1 104 7.0 7 126 8.5
2 123 8.3 8 113 7.6
3 148 10.0 9 103 6.9
4 154 10.4 10 139 9.4
5 139 9.4 11 115 7.7
6 122 8.2 12 99 6.7

Mercury shows the most numerous counts in sector 4 and the fewest in sector 12. The sectors with above expected counts are 3, 4, 5, 7 and 10. All the other sectors exhibit below expected counts when perfect randomness is used as a measure.

Application: Your client is thinking about entering medical school and becoming a doctor. Take a look at the heliogram for the client and see where Mercury is located. (Of course this is not the only factor to consider, but Mercury in sector 4 or 3 would be to the client's advantage.)

6.  THE COUNTS FOR PLANET VENUS

The results gathered for planet Venus are shown in the box below. Again, in the interest of brevity I present the totals for the whole Sectors. If you want the sub sector values, please email me your request.

SECTOR COUNT % OF TOTAL SECTOR COUNT % OF TOTAL
1 78 8 7 91 9.4
2 77 7.9 8 87 8.9
3 89 9.2 9 79 8.1
4 75 7.7 10 76 7.8
5 75 7.7 11 88 9.1
6 77 7.9 12 79 8.1

In perfectly random systems one would expect to see 8.3% of the total in each sector and as shown in the above table for the planet Venus none of the counts stray very far from that amount. The highest count is in sector 7 with 9.4% of the total and the smallest counts are found in sectors 4 and 5, each with 7.7% of the total.

7.  THE COUNTS FOR PLANET MARS

The results gathered for planet Mars are shown below.

SECTOR COUNT % OF TOTAL SECTOR COUNT % OF TOTAL
1 62 6.4 7 117 12.0
2 60 6.2 8 80 8.2
3 90 9.3 9 77 7.9
4 78 8.0 10 80 8.2
5 91 9.4 11 73 7.5
6 96 9.9 12 67 6.9

The lowest count is recorded in Sector 2 with 6.2% of the total and the highest count is recorded in Sector 7 with almost double the amount, 12.0% of the total. Once again, in a perfectly random system one would expect to find 8.3% of the total in each Sector.

Application: Using the client who is thinking about entering medical school and becoming a physician, as our example, the presence of Mars in Sector 7 of their birthchart would be an advantage for the client.

8. HELIOGRAM TYPES & PLANETARY PATTERNS

In the NHL Project I defined some of the different heliogram types and planetary patterns formed by the planets in their eternal cycles around the Sun. The eight major heliogram types and five major planetary patterns are described elsewhere on this website. The heliogram types and planetary patterns found in this project are listed below with their counts. The A&E Control column is the stats for the Adams & Eves Control group. See the Summary page for a complete breakdown of the heliogram types for all 21 projects.

HELIOGRAM TYPE COUNT AS % OF TOTAL A&E CONTROL
bowl 457 47.1 52.2
bee 7 0.7 0.9
butterfly 292 30.1 12.0
hemispheric 35 3.6 8.3
solo 84 8.6 13.5
splay 66 6.8 4.1
train 4 0.4 5.2
wasp 26 2.7 3.9

The table below shows the counts for the five major planetary patterns for these 971 physicians. See the complete array of planetary patterns for all the projects on the Summary page. There are more than five planetary patterns but the five studied here are those most often seen. I have not included other patterns because the counts are very small.

PATTERN COUNT AS % OF TOTAL A&E CONTROL
kite 249 25.6 22.4
grand cross 50 5.1 6.3
grand trine 44 4.5 6.3
stellium 717 73.8 69.6
t-square 547 56.3 30.2
none of the above 35 3.6 9.6

NOTE: The counts include all heliograms with a pattern, whether the pattern was the only pattern on the heliograms or whether it was one of several patterns on the heliograms. The trine pattern and the t-square pattern require as few as 3 planets to form and both have equal opportunity to form in our 9 planet solar system. The counts would indicate that some kind of choice is being made since the t-square is found significantly more frequently than the trine pattern.

9. SUMMARY

The purpose of this study is to take a look at the data from a very basic viewpoint and see if there is anything showing up that might warrant further investigation. You, the reader, will have to decide that for yourself. My own opinion pushes me into further inquiry.

As for anyone wishing to enter medical school, it would be to your advantage to have your heliogram indicating as many of the strengths listed in the table below as possible. K = kite, S = stellium, T = t-square. It would be to your advantage to have a stellium, kite, or t-square on your heliogram.

FACTOR HIGH SECTOR LOW  SECTOR
Location of Earth (Sun) 10   (4 ) 2  (8 )
Location of Mercury 4 12
Location of Venus 7 4 or 5
Location of Mars 7 2
Location of the Moon 10 2

FINAL THOUGHTS

The philosopher John Duns Scotus wrote that "Time and space are part of the qualities that make something what it is."
