COSMIC DATA-BANK APPLIED ASTROBIOLOGY - Exploring the Heliogram Award winning filmmaker Michael Apted chose fourteen English children and interviewed and filmed them every seven years from the age of seven to forty-nine. He began this intriguing use of film in 1964 and published the results on a series of DVDs called 'The UP Series'. The growth of the children over so many years is distilled into a few hours and for me as an astrobiologist it was breathtaking to experience. One factor that became very clear from the series was that the persona of each child remained constant even though many circumstances of their lives changed. It is my observation that this individual persona is set at birth, maybe even at conception, but since the date of conception is not known with certainty it has proven very fruitful to explore the planetary arrangement at the time of birth, and to organize that information into a personal heliogram. Every heliogram is the blueprint of the persona of someone. Your heliogram is a display of the arrangement of the planets around the Sun for the moment when you were born. Your heliogram describes the following things about you:
This 'individuality', which each of us possesses from birth, will be demonstrated in the types of choices and directions that we will make as we journey through life. When you enter 'decision making' mode the following cosmic factors are influential in the decisions you will make:
I am not dismissing the important roll that one's family, education, culture, country etc. all play in our choices in life for certainly they are important in adding color and texture to the manifestation of your persona. Not only are you tuned into the quality of time and space when you were born but you continue to be tuned into the movement of the planets throughout your life. You live in a solar system and are a part of it. The solar system is our greater environment and it is reflected in what you do, think, say, and feel. Your heliogram is the starting point in your exploration of your persona. There are many different heliogram types but for simplicity on this website I work with eight types that I see 99.9 % of the time. The major heliogram types and their percentages of the general population are as follows:
All the various heliogram types have their own strengths and weaknesses and high achievers may be found within each heliogram type. This is not a case of one type being "good" and another being "bad". Those concepts are not found in a heliogram type. What is found is the planetary dynamics of our solar system at the time of your birth. The planetary patterns found within the heliogram types will flesh out the picture. Following are the names of the major planetary patterns and their percentages in the general population. There are many types of planetary patterns, but again for simplicity I will discuss the five seen most frequently. These percentages are for the patterns standing alone and not in combination with any other pattern, which is more often the case. For example, the stand alone t-square pattern is found in 7.1% of the general population but when combined with other planetary patterns on the heliogram has a frequency of 30.2% in the general population and 70% in the world's best fashion designers. If you want to be remembered as the next Christian Dior it would be helpful to have a t-square on your heliogram but not absolutely necessary. There are many routes to the front page of Elle or Vogue. For a more detailed list of the planetary patterns in combination use the following link: SUMMARY The major planetary patterns and their percentages of the general population are as follows. These figures are for the planetary patterns alone and not in combination.
The angles between the planets in a heliogram may be of various sizes but there are four that are investigated on all the projects. They are shown in the table below and are graded according to their apparent ability, to activate or motivate a person. The conjunction is the strongest and the trine the weakest of the angles.
The Conjunction: Planets within 12° of each other fall into this category and exhibit strongly in the drive of the individual. The conjunction usually only involves 2 planets but not always. Singer-actress Whitney Houston has a conjunction of 3 planets on her heliogram which includes Mars, Mercury and Neptune all within a 6° arc. I correlate her unique voice and also her addiction problems, which are presently very serious (April 2006), with that conjunction. Because there are three planets in her conjunction it is correctly called a STELLIUM. The Opposition: Planets which are 180° apart are in a yin-yang formation and usually manifest as as energy blend. The Square: Planets which are 90° apart are in square aspect to each other. Regardless of the planets involved, this aspect is action oriented and manifests as self-motivation in the individual. Personal stress is likely to increase. The Trine: When planets are 120° apart they are in a trine aspect. This aspect manifests in the individual as the ability to relax, socialize, and not worry about much of anything. A high incidence of trine aspects on a personal heliogram usually manifests as laziness. All the studies strongly indicate that a surplus of square aspects over trine aspects is preferable if you are ambitious. Take a close look at your heliogram and the aspect relationship between the planets. It will tell you much about what drives you. Of course you might know that already if you know yourself well, but it is always satisfying to have it confirmed by an outside source. Astrobiology is a very young science. While the complete picture of how the planets manifest in the individuality of the person is still emerging, the following information will be very helpful to you when looking at your own heliogram. The list starts with the planet closest to the Sun and works outward in the usual sequence.
Knowing yourself through your heliogram is an essential step in helping you maximize the various stages of your life, especially after you have reached about 29 years of age. Before that time you should depend upon mentors, parents, relatives, teachers, counselors, coaches and friends who know you well enough to help you make those decisions. It would be to your great advantage to have your parents understand your heliogram since they are the ones who will guide you in those earliest years. After you have reached the age 28 - 30 it is very helpful to look at your evolution of being through the continuous transits of the planets and the aspects they make to your birth planets.
