COSMIC DATA-BANK Project 24: CANADIANS OF UNCOMMON VALOR TRANSITS The Wikipedia internet site is another rich resource for information about these heroic men, including descriptions of the event by date and place for which each was awarded the Victoria Cross. The time of the event was not noted except to say it was midday, early morning, late afternoon, etc. It is our conviction from observing humans and noting their personal transits over long periods of time that when a transiting planet makes a significant contact, such as a conjunction, opposition, or square, with the position any planet held at the time of the individual's birth, the consciousness of that person will change. The team has put together some examples from this project for you to study. Certainly, a dramatic shift in consciousness enabled these men to commit fearless valor in the face of almost certain death. The observations were significant in every transit study of the events in the lives of these 93 heroes; we present a few below to give you a working idea of them. All the planets have a different orbital time around the Sun. Mercury is the one making the most frequent orbits, completing an orbit every 88 Earth days while Pluto is the slowest and completes one orbit every 248 Earth years. Pluto moved into sector 10 in September 2008, putting a solar system signature on the beginning of the Wall Street banking collapse in the U.S.A. Not a single living person on this planet has ever experienced Pluto in sector 10 until it began in the Fall of 2008. It was a whole new energy frequency for earthlings to experience. The planetary transits are divide them into three categories, short, medium, and long term transits. Example: A transiting Mercury conjunction to a natal planet will be exact for only about 6 hours of a day and is associated with snap decision making, or a remarkable presentation to a prospective customer, etc. At the other end of the scale, a Neptune conjunction to a natal planet will be exact for months dependent upon the part of its orbit it is in. A Neptune transit can be either extremely problematic or inspiration and creativity building dependent upon personal circumstances at the time.
* The days and years in the orbital period refer to Earth days or Earth years. Mercury makes a conjunction aspect to each of the planets on your heliogram every 88 days, averaging four degrees movement per day. Venus moves approximately 1.5 degrees per day, while the Earth moves just a little under one degree per day. Uranus on the other hand conjuncts each of your natal planets only once every 84 years, if you live that long. The onset of a conjunction from an outer planet will be noticeable in your conscious behavior for months before it happens. THOMAS FASTI DINESEN Mr. Dinesen was born on August 9, 1892 in Rungsted, Denmark. On the outbreak of World War One he attempted to enlist in the British, French, and U.S.A. armies before being accepted by the Canadians and assigned to the Black Watch regiment. It was three days after his 26th birthday when, on August 12, 1918 at Parvillers, France, he rushed alone towards the entrenched enemy troops, five times in succession, and put hostile guns out of action. He was credited with killing twelve of the enemy using both bayonet and grenade. For this action Thomas Dinesen was awarded the Victoria Cross and the French honored him with the Croix de Guerre. Read more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Dinesen The table below lists the planets, the Natal Positions of the planets and the Transit Position of the planets by sector and degree for noon of that date. The exact birth and event times are unknown to me. The closest aspects made by the transiting planets to the natal planets are shown in the final column. A discussion of the transits may be found below the table.
1. ME CON ME - Transiting Mercury conjunct natal Mercury. Clarity and speed of decision making is a hallmark of this transit which occurs every 88 days. 2. ME SQR SA - Transiting Mercury in square aspect to natal Saturn. This transit also occurs every 88 days and manifests as increased self-confidence and motivation in the individual. 3. EA CON EA - Transiting Earth conjuncts natal Earth manifests as increased confidence in the individual. His 26th birthday was three days earlier. 4. MA SQR VE - Transiting Mars in square aspect to natal Venus is a transit which occurs every 23 months approximately. It is associated with an increased desire to protect those dear to us, in this case, his brothers in arms. This is not the only association one can make for this transit but one must look at both the transits and the circumstances of the individual in order to understand them. 5. SA OPP EA - Transiting Saturn opposes natal Earth, a transit which occurs every 29.5 years approximately. This would have been his first experience with this transit which is associated with increased confidence and strategic thinking. Planet Earth in transit studies always represents the "here and now". The layout of the planets at the time of the event for Private Dinesen would not repeat again in his lifetime. Every transit pattern is once only for every individual. Yes it is true that Mercury returns to its natal position every 88 days but the next time it does so all the other planets will be in different places. Knowing your own heliogram will allow you to see your transit opportunities well in advance. CHARLES FERGUSON HOEY Charles Hoey was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on March 29, 1914. He was 29 years old and a Temporary Major in the 1st Battalion, The Lincolnshire Regiment, British Army, during World War II when on February 16, 1944 near the Ngakyedauk Pass, Arakan, Burma (now Myanmar) Major Hoey's company came under devastating machine gun fire. Major Hoey did not waver in his advance on the objective. Although wounded in the head and leg he went forward alone and tackled a troublesome enemy strong point, destroying it and killing all the occupants. He was mortally wounded during his awesome display of fearless courage.
1. ME OPP SA - Transiting Mercury opposite natal Saturn - occurs every 88 days - steels the nerves, increases confidence and strategic thinking. 2. JU CON MA - Transiting Jupiter conjunct natal Mars - occurs every 12 years - increases personal energy and confidence. 3. PL OPP UR - Transiting Pluto opposite natal Uranus - occurs once in a lifetime, if at all, dependent upon the life span of the individual - the manifesting of potentially lethal actions outside the realm of the usual for the individual; abandonment of the fear of death. For more information on Charles Hoey use the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Ferguson_Hoey FREDERICK GEORGE TOPHAM Corporal Topham was born August 10, 1917 in Etobicoke, Ontario. He was 27 years of age and a medical orderly in the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion, Canadian Army during World War II when the following action took place. Two medical orderlies had been killed while attending to a wounded man lying totally exposed to the enemy when Corporal Topham, on his own initiative, rushed to the wounded man's aid. While attending to the man's injuries he was shot in the face but that did not stop him from bringing the wounded man to safety under a barrage of continuous fire. Later on the same day he rescued three men from a Bren-gun carrier which had been hit by enemy fire causing the carrier's live ammunition to explode. Amazingly, he survived. 1. EA SQR PL - transiting Earth in square aspect to natal Pluto - This transit occurs every 365/6 days and manifests as the ability to look death in the face and not hesitate to act. 2. MA OPP SA, NE - transiting Mars opposes the natal conjunction of Saturn and Neptune - This transit occurs every 23 months approximately. The conjunction of Saturn and Neptune on a natal heliogram is associated with creative thinking outside the box, an increased sensitivity to the needs of others and a lessening of restricting boundaries at the core of the individual. The transit of Mars to this natal conjunction would have motivated him and made urgent his need to help without thought of possible deadly consequences to himself. 3. UR CON MA - transiting Uranus conjuncts natal Mars - This transit occurs once in a lifetime, if at all, and would have been coming to exactness for weeks before the event took place. This transit manifests as unusual behavior by the individual; a plunge into unknown personal territory. JOHN FRANCIS YOUNG Born in Kidderminster, England on January 14, 1893, he emigrated to Canada prior to World War One and worked as a tobacco packer for a firm in Montreal, Quebec. He attained the rank of Sergeant during the war and when it ended he returned to his former job in Montreal. He died from tuberculosis in 1929 at the age of twenty-six. Mustard gas was used by the enemy during the conflict for which he received his Victoria Cross and the exposure to that deadly chemical damaged one of his lungs, contributing to his early death. During intense fighting on September 2, 1918 in the Arras Sector in France, his company suffered heavy casualties. Private John Young, a stretcher-bearer went forward to dress the wounded in open ground continually swept by enemy machine-gun and rifle fire. He displayed absolute fearlessness and rescued well over a dozen men. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Francis_Young .
This group of square aspects from transiting to natal planet positions is an archetypal signature for FEARLESSNESS. Square aspects are very motivating; it is impossible to do nothing when they are present. The transiting Saturn and Neptune aspects would have been forming for weeks building a personal consciousness full of self-confidence and idealism for the cause. The one day aspects from transiting Mercury and Earth would have been very motivating and act, he did, with such fearlessness it is difficult to imagine. In his own mind he may have become invisible to those determined to destroy him. The entire story becomes more amazing when one discovers that there were six other men in the Canadian forces who received the Victoria Cross for uncommon valor on that blood drenched day, September 2, 1918 near Arras, France. They are listed below:
In the table below are listed the natal positions of the planets at the time of their births and the position of the transiting planets at the time of the action. If you want to know the aspects they were experiencing from the transiting planets at the time of the battle, use the following easy method to figure out if an aspect is square, opposite or conjunct. Take the natal and transit positions of a planet and subtract the larger sector number from the smaller. If the remainder is 3 or a 9 the aspect is a square, if the remainder is 6 the aspect is an opposition and if the sector numbers are the same, the aspect is a conjunction. Additionally, the degree of each sector for the natal and transiting planet must be within plus or minus three degrees. EXAMPLE: John Young's natal Mercury position = 818, his transiting Saturn position = 518; (818 - 518 = 3, a square). See how easy this is! The table below lists the natal positions of the planets for each of the six valiant men and also the transit positions of the planets on the day of the bloody action. The bottom line tells you how many aspects by transiting planets they were experiencing at the time of the battle. Only the conjunction, square, and opposition aspects were counted. (There were others but we want to keep this as simple as possible.)
More rather than fewer transits usually increases the intensity of the personal experience in consciousness shifting but the intensity can also be linked to the natal and transiting planets involved. If you like a challenge, see if you can identify the conjunction, square, or opposition aspects for each of these men during their fearless actions. COMMENT These transit examples are only a sampling from the records of the 93 heroic men involved in this study but they will give you a glimpse at the events in their lives and the transit patterns at the time they distinguished themselves so fearlessly. The transits for all the others are as intense, numerous, and different, as they are for the six men in the table above. The strength of transit analysis for every individual is in knowing your very accurate personal weather report ahead of time. Are you heading into rough seas? Is this a good time to take risks? Those are typical of the questions you might ask yourself when looking at your own upcoming transits. There is an advantage to knowing your transit cycles in advance. It is called strategic planning and we strongly recommend it for everyone. |
